The Aranyszem Cinematographer Awards were handed out for the first time ever, on György Illés’ 90th birthday. The Cinematographer of the Year was Gyula Pados.
2005
Gergely Pohárnok was the Cinematographer of the Year, while the recipient of the Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award was Katalin Mászáros. György Illés, János Tóth, László Kovács és Vilmos Zsigmond were given Legend Lifetime Achievement Awards by the Hungarian Society of Cinematographers.
2006
The Legend Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to those cinematographers who were on the streets of Budapest during the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 so they could record the events for the world. János Badal, Árpád Burza, István Hildebrand, László Kovács, Béla Langmár, Mihály Mátray, József Mikó, János Tóth, Tibor Vagyóczky and Vilmos Zsigmond received these honorary awards. András Nagy was chosen as the Cinematographer of the Year, while Tamás Dobos won the Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award.
2007
Tibor Máthé was the first recipient of the György Illés Award, with this he was chosen as the Cinematographer of the Year. The Hungarian Society of Cinematographers Legend Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to János Badal, Ferenc Szécsényi, and István Hildebrand. Daniel Reich received the Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award.
2008
The Legend Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Sándor Sára, while Gergely Pohárnok was chosen as the Cinematographer of the Year. Gábor Tausz received the Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award.
2009
The Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award was given to Daniel Reich by Vilmos Zsigmond, while Buda Gulyás was chosen as the Cinematographer of the Year. Sándor Kardos, Lajos Koltai, Tibor Máthé, Elemér Ragályi and János Zsombolyai received the Legend Lifetime Achievement Award.
2010
András Nagy received the Cinematographer of the Year, while Billy Williams was given a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hungarian Society of Cinematographers. The Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award was given to Márton Szigethy by Vilmos Zsigmond.
2011
The Cinematographer of the Year was Sándor Csukás for his outstanding achievements in the previous years.
2012
Elemér Ragályi was chosen as the Cinematographer of the Year for which he received the György Illés Award.
2013
The Cinematographers of the Year were László Reich (TV Drama category) and Gergely Pohárnok (Feature film category). Lajos Koltai gave Vittorio Storaro a Lifetime Achievement Award, while the Legend Award was given to János Kende. Marcell Nagy was chosen as the best cinematographer in the Student category. The Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award was given to him by Vilmos Zsigmond.
2014
Tamás Dobos was the Cinematographer of the Year, while Evelin Judit Tóth was chosen as the winner of the Student category and received the Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award. In 2014, the Aranyszem Awards remembered the 100th birthday of three legends: György Illés, Barnabás Hegyi és István Homoki Nagy.
2015
Mátyás Erdélyi was chosen as the Cinematographer of the Year and received the György Illés Award for his incredible work in Son of Saul. Mari Törőcsik received Legend Life Lifetime Achievement Award for her 80th birthday from the Hungarian Society of Cinematographers. The winner of the Student category was András Táborosi, who received the Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award.
2017
The Legend Life Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Tamás Andor, while Péter Szatmári was chosen as Cinematographer of the Year. The recipient of the Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award was Mátyás Gyuricza.
2018
István Balázs Balázs was the first person to win a László Kovács-Vilmos Zsigmond Cinematographer Award in the Student category, along with which he also received the Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award. János Kende, Lajos Koltai, Gyula Pados, Elemér Ragályi and Sándor Sára were given Lifetime Achievement Awards at the ceremony.
2019
Péter Lehr Juhász won the Student category and received the Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award. The Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to Tibor Vagyóczky, László Gyurikó and Ferenc Pap. József Marton was the first recipient of the Béla Bojkovszky Award.
2020
At the event, Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to Tibor Máthé, Nyika Jancsó and András Szalai. Miklós Hajdú received the Béla Bojkovszky Award. The recipient of the Sparks Camera & Lighting Ltd. Special Award was Mátyás Gyuricza.
